Welcome to Cinemabox, we ran out b’s. You know I love to find old movies like we use to watch after school, and on late night TV. And I found a stash, these are movies that have fallen into the Puplic Domain, enjoy!

Neighbors – 1920 Buster Keaton 17:34 min

Big Buck Bunny (quite very new (2009?)- 10 minutes)

This reminds me of the old joke:
Bear asks the bunny; "Does shit stick to your hair?"
Bunny; "No?"
Hearing that answer, bear wiped his ass with the bunny. "Good!"

The Scarecrow – 1920 Buster Keaton (runs 20:12)

    Movie: Never Weaken
There are very, very few Harold Lloyd films in the public domain. Why? Because he owned almost all his own films, and was extremely protective of them. Harold was an artist, complete with the classic temperament, and one of the founders of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, which you may know from their crappy little award show program ‘the Oscars’. That should tell you a whole lot about the character of Harold Lloyd.

Trivia that cracked me up; Herold actually had good vision, but put on glasses so he wouldn’t be so handsome in movies.

There are two strange things in this film. I’m sure you noticed the finger snap, editing mistake. But the one that really cracks me up, is at the very end of the film, there a que to change reels. The next real must have been very short, it only has the Pathe’ Distributors card on it. I’ll bet most projectionist didn’t bother with it. Which would have annoyed Herold to NO END, from all I’ve read.

    Cartoon: What’s Opera Doc?
Yes I did, I found it for you, the greatest cartoon of all time. (1000 animators can’t be wrong) I found it on Google Movies, with some cross link to revver.com (whatever that is). It offers embedding, so it had to be lifted, and presented here. Tragic, ain’t it? In case your wondering, that’s not a bed, it’s a horse, a very very very big horse, in the still.

    Movie: Neighbors
Just how much trouble can you stir up with a piece of paper with a love note on it? Well, enough to get your whole neighborhood thrown in jail, in this one! Is this anyway to throw a wedding? Only in Keaton’s hilarious world.

    Gone- dang!
Well, that’s life when your bumming thing from a third party. You hope they’re doing it right, and legally. Maybe the contract expired, maybe not? I have no way of knowing.
    Sorry gang!

    Cartoon: Big Buck Bunny

This is an Open Movie (like Open Source Software). It was made with Blender 3D modeler program. And that’s something I’ve been trying to figure out about as long as I’ve been trying to learn JAVA!

(Some of will sign with disappointment, knowing what that means).

It’s not exactly a happy movie, but it does have some humor to it.
I think they produced this just to prove to me, that it can be done, contrary to my insistents that it can’t- this is only a figment of your imagination!

    Movie: The Scarecrow
A guy with the stuffing beat out of him, wins the girl.

Two rival suitors are living together in a bachelor pad. Sadly in a house with no mother. There’s a pie eating mad dog that enjoys a romp, grumpy old doting father out to protect his daughter from trouble, and wishful old mother stuck in a pragmatic marriage, to keep this love story hilarious and moving along.

It you think this movie is predicable, it’s only because you’ve seen it before! Yes, it is the Buster formula, but this has got to be one his most cleaver movies of gimmicks and stunts, ever. Enjoy the Scarecrow, because I sure did.
