Hi, I’m Randy Smiley. Now before you get too excited, allow me explain that Smiley is actually a Common Name for a North America Stud Muffin. I would like to think I’m the only one, however facts are that there’s a BUNCH of Randy Smileys out there that would be just a bit annoyed by that idea! I even know of one that lives within 5 miles of me (as the crow flies), who is about the same age, and not related to me at all! So how do you know if you have the right one?
I’m the Randy Smiley that was born in 1961, and spent his whole primary education in the Rim of the World School District, advancing only by social promotion. Who worked as a contractor to SCE off and on through the 90s. And for UFC at the turn of the millennium. I built the RTR, and Relay databases, XWOES accounting systems (and spreadsheet) as well as working on RealFacts, before I started doing nothing but support. And I think that might make me unique to all other Randy Smileys you might know, but who can be certain in these uncertain times? Of coarse, you could always look at my picture too, but we know how very painful that can be.
At one time I was an expert in FORTRAN, C++, Paradox, Access, VB, and PHP. Now I’m just a old dried up, has been, hack, still trying to figure out Java (for the 8th, 9th, 10th… year in a row)!
My health is generally horribly good (read that as you may). I am a cancer survivor, and I still have an enlarged heart. But none of that means I have any plans to throw in the towel, any time soon. I will live my life to the best of my abili …{gasp} {cough, cough, cough} …ty for as long as I ……{agh!}.

People today, are emotionally charged, angry and concerned about Spirituality vs. Science. They are feeling increasing pressure on things they want to believe, vs. reality and physics. Myself included! But realize that nobody is at war with anybody else on these issues. Those who are, are nuts on both sides! I admit that I’ve become Gnostic in recent years, it’s just a part of my own natural skepticism. Strange things can and do happen, and at quite curious times, I am a witness to this. Yes, I am conflicted- so what? God is not your personal servant, as many mislead you into believing that YOU are HIS personal representative- you are not (get over it)!
SUPPORT SINGLE-PAYER or at least THE PUBLIC OPTION — VARY VOCALLY — UNTIL IT BECOMES LAW! You can’t bankrupt an insurance company, it’s just not possible, unless they do something stupid with the money (AIG). They don’t need your protection. And Good HEALTH, is a human right.
That is my story, and I’m sticking to it!
